It takes a minimum amount of effort to complete the Silvermine. From the numerous look outs you will get spectacular views of surrounding oceans and will be immersed in magnificent Fynbos species ever present on the mountain. These view and enviroments are to be seen to be believed and you can only do this in and around the Cape of Good Hope.
Silvermine is a protected Nature Reserve and includes the Silvermine Reservoir built in 1898 to supply water to Cape Town. The entrance is at the top of Ou Kaapse Weg. The walk starts at the parking area just before the reservoir and makes a wonderful day out in the Cape.

Silvermine is Map Three in our five-map series for the Table Mountain National Park. Fully detailed with contours at 20 metre intervals, the map shows all approved paths in this popular, central-Peninsula hiking area. The map's reverse includes details of the 23 most popular walking routes, full safety instructions, all emergency telephone numbers, etc etc.
