Namibia and Western Botswana Map Including Camping & Campsites Locations and Details
Namibia is a BIG country, very sparsely populated but with an excellent
infrastructure. It is bordered by South Africa, Botswana and Angola to the
north. Namibia is renowned worldwide for its unique Etosha Pan and National
Park. (TEMORARILY OUT OF STOCK UNTIL NEW EDITION JAN 2011)
West of the country is the mighty Atlantic Ocean whose cool waters are responsible for thick mists which provide much needed moisture for adjacent desert areas.
Distances are huge and Namibia has an extensive and well developed road system, unusual for most sub-saharan countries with the exception of South Africa.
Windhoek is the capital of Namibia and this map is the ONLY one endorsed by the Roads Authority of Namibia. Roads. Shown in detail are major, and minor roads which are clearly identified as being tarred or gravel. The map also shows the type of vehicle required to traverse the 12 mountain passes in Namibia. Two of these are not suitable for caravans and one definitely is. The remainder should be enquired about before setting off with your caravan in tow.
Adjoining the south eastern edge of Namibia is the amazing Kalagadi Transfrontier Park and it's possible to drive through the Park from South Africa and enter Namibia at the Mata Mata gate in the extreme north west of the Kgalagadi.
This map is excellent in that it shows a large number of camping possibilities spread across Namibia with important details including contact information. Each camping spot is shown and highlighted on the map. The map is updated annually.
